Missions

They have three children, Makayla, Dawson, and Braydon. All excel in baseball. Chris serves as the senior pastor of Landsdale Community Wesleyan Church and also at the district level. Melissa is involved with teen, children, and women’s ministry. Most people are unchurched in Western Australia and desperately need the Lord. Chris recently had surgery, but is on the mend. Even during the lockdown, they have seen God working to answer prayer. The other family we support serve in a place where they are not to be known as missionaries. Simply pray for their health and witness.

Gideons International are devoted to distributing God’s Word locally and internationally. God’s
Word in native tongues will lead a searching heart to God.

Bible Sticks are small and easily carried. They are based on Romans 10:17 which states that
“faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (NKJV). These are given to military
personnel. These brave soldiers need to hear God’s Word.

Chamber’s Camp provides a camping experience where God is worshiped and made known.
There are camps for all ages as well as the district missions’ night and other events and retreats.
It is a place where people of all ages meet and learn about God. Families also have cottages
there. Another ministry that our church supports is the Ladies’ Retreat at Camp. Ladies who
attend renew and grow their faith as they dig deeper into life application.

Second Wind Cottages provide homes and care for homeless men. They are compact, but very
nice. Men must follow rules which keep the homes and residents safe. These men need to know
how much God loves them. 1 Peter 4:10 (ESV) says “As each has received a gift, use it to serve
one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace”. We sometimes collect items for them.

The Pregnancy Resource Center supports women facing unplanned pregnancies. The hope is that
all women will choose life for their baby and eternal life for themselves through a relationship
with Christ. Pregnancy tests, counseling, and support throughout the pregnancy and birth of the
baby are provided. Counselling is offered to fathers as well. PRC also is at Elmira High School
and Elmira College for students who want to ask them questions.

The Food Bank and the Food Pantry serve individuals and families in need of food. Those
involved in this ministry give more than food. They are welcoming and hospitable and
sometimes funny giving everyone who comes respect and care. Our church also hosts Saturday
lunch once a month. Everything is supplied including service.

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Boxes are filled with gifts and
personal items for children. Thousands of these boxes are delivered around the world. After
receiving the Christmas box, children have the opportunity to sign up for “The Greatest
Journey”. This is a twelve lesson course which teaches children how to follow Christ in their
daily lives. We collect items to pack in boxes monthly for this ministry and in November, pack
many boxes.

The Arctic League is known for supplying Christmas gifts and food for children and families in
need.

Child Evangelism Fellowship reaches local children and teens through camps and programs.
